HYANNIS (WHDH) – Authorities state a PetSmart worker on Cape Cod suffered a multitude of injuries on Wednesday when a pet that was being groomed assaulted her without warning.Police responded around 11:15 a.m. to the store in Hyannis for a report of a pet dog bite and discovered a path of blood leading from the grooming area, through the client aisle and training area, around the corner and into the staff member lounge.Officers found a 22-year-old employee being dealt with by colleagues for multiple bite injuries, inning accordance with police.The victim informed police that the owner of the pet, a pit bull mix, brought

the animal in wearing a muzzle and asking that it be groomed. The victim declared the dog’s owner told her that it was “sweet as can be”when she asked him about the muzzle. The owner cannot reveal that it had actually assaulted a person in the past, according to police.The muzzle was eliminated throughout the grooming procedure, per store policy. The pet then attacked the victim for “no evident reason without caution, “inning accordance with police.The victim suffered bite wounds to her upper torso, wrist and hand, along with substantial tearing of the flesh, possible damaged bones and a thought dislocated shoulder.Police state the victim was taken to Cape Cod Medical facility and after that flown to Brigham and Women’s Medical facility in Boston for treatment. Her condition is unknowned at this time.Police are

examining the attack.PetSmart issued the following statement on the situation: “This is a disturbing, regrettable incident, and our ideas are first and primary with our associate who was injured. We will continue to support her and

want her a full and speedy healing. We are actively investigating
